In the home, the Birkat Habayit is traditionally hung on the wall next to the front door or next to a window: it is meant to drive any evil spirits out of the house and protect the occupants within. Besides bringing a blessing upon the home, variations from around the world are also seen as brilliant works of art and are often given as housewarming gifts.
Gift boxed and ready for giving, this “Home Blessing” Mezuzah available with non-kosher scroll or with a kosher scroll*, is precision cut from mahogany wood, hand-painted, and based on high-quality anodized aluminum with self-adhesive backing. Available with a glass tube firmly attached to the side for a newly wedded couple to fill with shards from their wedding glass.
The Hebrew word for mezuzah means “doorpost”. Most frequently hung on the doorpost of the main doorway entering and exiting the home. Observant Jews hang them on every doorway of the home (except for the bathroom).

*The Kosher Mezuzah scroll (also known as a klaf) is rolled and placed in the Mezuzah case. Made from genuine parchment from the skin of a kosher animal, inscribed in black ink, and include specific Hebrew verses from the Torah. It is hand-written by a trained, religious devout scribe, known in Hebrew as a sofer. The sofer concentrates intensely and writes with special Hebrew characters in a beautiful calligraphic hand.
