Nothing Makes It Feel More Like Summer Than the Music and Memories of Our Youth.
Growing up in the 60’s, and each being the youngest of our siblings, we were gratefully exposed and surrounded with “Rock & Roll” and “Psychedelic” music during our single digit years.
Spending summers away at camp and recollecting the popular music of the time, we still associate those tunes with our summers passed.
SUMMER OF '69
The 13 inch TV propped on the social hall stage gave us a tiny peek 0f the 1969 moon landing, as did the comeback of the '69 Mets that made us roar and cheer, leading them to the World Series. And then of course, there was the infamous Woodstock Festival. There were camp counselors who snuck out to attend, just a few miles away, with only some to return. The ones who did, filled our heads and hearts with tales of music, peace, and love that are still legendary today.
THE SOUNDTRACK TO OUR TEEN YEARS
As teenagers, blasting to the beat of our love for the genre, we sang our hearts out as we walked the streets, met up with friends, and hung out.
Our favorite bands provide endless inspiration for my artwork. The Beatles, Elton John, Grateful Dead, etc. Their words continue to speak to me and find their way into my work so that they can speak to you, too and last forever.
XO,
Glenn & Sloane
